Machine Learning – Object Recognition on a Raspberry Pi

This post is a simple wrapper around Jan Jongboon’s excellent video and github tutorial on creating an object recognition machine learning model in a few simple steps with a Raspberry Pi and a camera.

Once trained, the model runs live on the Raspberry Pi and can then send text messages to your phone via Twilio to inform you that the object has been detected.

Note that if you don’t have a Raspberry Pi with a camera, you can also do this using a mobile phone, or several other development boards.
